Bug Sweeping

The idea that your movements could be monitored and your conversations recorded does seem a little far fetched, but in reality it is becoming common place. The cost of bugs has dropped in price and size and can be disguised as a calculator, desk clock or any other every day item of office equipment. Imagine how simple it would be for a salesperson to enter your building and leave one of the above as a promotional gift or even send it in the post. If the bug was concealed within a pen, how difficult would it be for any visitor to deliberately leave it in your offices?

The Signs

• Competitors seem to know your every move.
• You have noticed a noise on your phone line; it might seem less clear or suddenly quieter.
• Un-requested maintenance visits from utility companies.
• Un-identified vehicle/s parked nearby your office.
• Slight change of the physical structure of your office, fixtures, carpet, smoke detectors etc.
• Salespeople leaving gifts/postal promotional goods.

If you can answer yes to any of the following signs that your offices maybe bugged, you should not call us from your offices, but from a landline phone or pay phone that is not situated in the suspected area. We would then set up a meeting at a time where all staff have left, including any office cleaners. It is imperative not to discuss our meeting with anyone else, especially at your offices.

We use the latest and most technically advanced state of the art bug detection equipment that has the ability of detecting all electronic listening devices, telephone taps, microwave, radio and concealed video bugs. The survey is in two parts, firstly a physical survey on site where we inspect all electronic equipment and look to see for any suspicious new fittings, discolouration of the walls, ceiling and floor where a piece of furniture may have moved and not put back to its original position; the second part consists the use of all of our counter surveillance equipment. We will then inspect the outside of the building, looking for any suspicious objects, especially near to the phone lines that lead from the junction box down the street.
